Electric Bikes

Electric bikes are an exciting new development made possible by advances in battery and electric drive technology in recent years. With an electric bike you still get the benefits of pedalling exercise but with the bonus of extra help when the going gets tough, such as when you you encounter any gradient (all European regulation compliant electric bikes are 'pedal assist' bikes where the rider has to pedal for the motor to engage).

With this category it really is a case of ''you get what you pay for,'  which is why we currently do not offer such a wide variety of brands (though we are always on the lookout). The ones that we do stock - Gazelle, Gocycle and Dahon, in their different ways boast very impressive credentials. Gocycle is bascially the lightest production electric bike on the market, which also has the virtue of being a 'collapsible;'  Dahon give you electric assist in a true compact and very practical folding bike package; whilst with Gazelle you get pretty much the best available: refined, very high quality, fully equipped, fully programmable Dutch bikes. Make no mistake - these are premium electric bikes.
