Ridgeback's Rapide range of bikes is the brand's highly successful staple range of versatile all-rounders. These bikes are good value but high quality British designed bikes in either lightly equipped trim, with rack and mudguards, or a naked, more sporty trim.

The equipped Rapides get you from A to B in a light and efficient manner, with the assurance that mudguards will keep you and the bike clean and the rack will carry the load.

We like them for their smart understated styling; their general lack of suspension forks - which we feel to be unecessary for this type; and their more consistent use of high quality Shimano parts than you will find on other brands.

Ridgeback Speed Men's 2012

The Speed gives you most of the things that you expect from a modern bike at a reasonable price. It will get you around in reasonable speed and comfort.  It is very light for the price, it's fairly upright and has 21 speed Shimano gearing with a light aluminium frame and rigid steel fork. In common with most of the Rapide series, the high spec Continental Contact tyres reduce the likelihood of puncture trauma. Like many bikes at this price, it's a basically recreational bike however, so if you want something for more continual use then we would recommend that you spend a bit more.
