Ridgeback's World range is a group of bikes for people who quite simply want to travel. The modern embodiment of the British tradition of bikes made for the open road. Characterised by traditional geometry frames with drop handlebars, these bikes will give you the confidence to plan to go further afield. Whether you're planning to trundle along the byways of these islands, you've booked a day long sportive, or you're planning a year-long self-supported epic, there's a bike here for you.
As we have come to expect from Ridgeback, the bikes in the World range are equipped with sensible components unencumbered by fad or fashion. We love these purposeful steel bikes.
The Ridgeback Panorama is the top bike in the World range and elder sibling to the Voyage. At its heart is a frame made from butted Reynolds 725 tubing, which is light yet strong enough to pull off fully-laden touring with ease. This is coupled with a light and springy triple butted cromoly fork . This bike is blessed with some high end parts cherry-picked from Shimano XT, Deore and Tiagra. It represents an upgrade of most of the components fitted to the Voyage, and adds a pair of Blackburn low rider front racks to boot.
Like the Voyage, the Panorama has been designed for the purpose of carrying large loads efficiently for long distances. The frame and the wheels are designed to cope with all the load permutations associated with 2 large rear panniers with a tent and sleeping bag between, 2 small front panniers, a bar bag and 3 bottle cages. The Shimano XT, Deore and Tiagra mix delivers as low a gear as you could want, so geography, or topography, should present no barrier to your route choice.
The Panorama delivers low weight frame and forks, 27 speeds with a low bottom gear, Tiagra STI shift levers, light and strong wheels and a front rack. And the British Racing Blue is quite stunning! Perfect for long distance touring and expedition riding, you will get a lot of bike and a lifetime's fun for £1249.99.
