The Captain XL with its solid polyethylene base is the heaviest duty trailer in the Chariot range. Heavy duty, as in tough enough to stand endless, all weather, day to day use on short utility trips - shopping, school and nursery runs. The solid base also extends to wheel arches, which contains all the water and road muck that is picked up by the wheels that would otherwise be flung everywhere (including all over your nice new trailer!). It's heavy duty also, as in the heaviest in the range.  However, like all Chariots it handles well and rolls along fine and is really the one to go for if your needs are predominantly utility.

The Captain has a very high specification, including suspension and luxurious padded seats and harnesses for your loved ones and is fully compatible with all the large range of Chariot accessories. This two seater can be used to carry up to two children up to 45kg -either two older ones or an infant in the baby sling and one older child. It also converts easily into a buggy or stroller.

Although like all Chariots, this trailer is pretty weatherproof, we would still recommend buying the separate raincover for the UK climate! For longer distances or more recreational riding, look for something lighter - either the Corsaire, for a virtually identical specification, but with a fabric base; or the altogther more minimalist Cabriolet.
